Agnes Rocke Stevens

Agnes Rocke Stevens was born on 21 May 1861 in Calcutta where her father William Stevens was employed as a consulting engineer.

Agnes married Arthur Ledsam Savory on 24 June 1880 at St Paul’s Church, Clifton, Bristol.

She was supposed to have been very jealous of her husband, which was the reason given why she only employed male servants.

They had six children, three sons and three daughters. Margaret Melita, Muriel Agnes, Evelyn Beryl, Charles Harley, and twins Sir Reginald Arthur and Kenneth Stevens.

Agnes died, aged 86, on 19th October 1947 at Mousehole, Cornwall and was cremated in Plymouth.
